The Values of the New European Bauhaus as a Basis for Entrepreneurship Education

How can the values of the New European Bauhaus – Beautiful, Sustainable, Together – be embedded in entrepreneurial education? As part of the Hacking Neuperlach format, students at the Munich University of Applied Sciences worked with the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship and UnternehmerTUM to develop entrepreneurial solutions to various challenges in urban development. The aim was to find out how such a collaboration between urban reality and (social) entrepreneurship instruction can be designed.
One of the key insights was that a targeted knowledge transfer of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) values – Beautiful, Sustainable, Together – is essential for future teaching formats in this area – for both students and teachers. These values offer a valuable orientation when it comes to developing entrepreneurial approaches for liveable, sustainable and community-oriented urban development.
To facilitate the integration of these values into education, we worked together with the project staff to produce three videos on the individual values, along with a short introduction. These videos are designed to make it easier to replicate educational formats for urban district development through entrepreneurship. They can be used in virtual courses as well as directly in the classroom and offer teachers and students practical incentives for working with the NEB values.
Introduction: Bridging Urban Development and Entrepreneurship
As an introduction to the small series about NEB values as they relate to entrepreneurship, Johanna Kobilke explains how the European Union defines the NEB values and how these can influence the course of urban development. She also talks about how they can be put to use by anyone who wants to contribute to designing a transformation that resonates with these values.
