Rediscovering the neighbourhood – exploring Neuperlach with Siemens
February 2025. The ongoing exchange with Neuperlach-based businesses makes an important contribution to the process of creating a living and working environment in the district that is sustainable, socially just and environmentally friendly.
A walk through the district with representatives from Siemens, a major employer in the Munich-Neuperlach area, was therefore a valuable opportunity to share insights from the Creating NEBourhoods Together project with a large company and to strike up conversations with committed project and district stakeholders. The presentations of the NEBourhood Hubs RESI, the NEBourhood Nisthocker (Nesting Stool) and the NEBourhood Pavilion opened up exciting perspectives for sustainable neighbourhood design and promoted discussions about opportunities for further applications of these pilot projects in an entrepreneurial context.
The neighbourly exchange with the district management at Quidde35 was particularly valuable, as it illustrated how both corporate and district development can carry the central idea of the project forward: working together to create sustainable and liveable neighbourhoods, for example by providing young people living in Neuperlach with access to bundled information about local training opportunities.
