Creating NEBourhoods Together

Replication Handbook for the EU's Lighthouse Demonstrator for the New European Bauhaus, "Creating NEBourhoods Together".

DELIVERABLE. A report on the potential of collaborating with artists and creative professionals in urban experimentation and how it has been anchored in NEBourhoods as a prototype of reflexive governance. The designs are shown and contextualised within the co-creative processes.

This handbook focuses on the use of entrepreneurial thinking in formats for students to address urban challenges in the context of neighborhood development. It outlines which types of challenges are suitable, which methods are appropriate for generating challenges, and the role local stakeholders should play in the challenge-generation process. The manual is written in a way that allows the methodology to be applied in other cities as well.

DELIVERABLE. The report summarises the second round of the NEBourhoods "Hacking Neuperlach" format. It provides an overview of the objectives, challenges and solutions developed by students. In order to be able to view the results in context, the introduction explains why entrepreneurial education can serve as a motor for urban development and what challenges and opportunities arise in the process. A look at the project's internal development enables external actors to replicate the format.

How does one involve academia, businesses, the city administration and especially civil society in urban development projects? How can tangible solutions be developed to initiate sustainable transformation? This handbook outlines the necessary steps and illustrates them with examples.

The Toolbox contains a catalogue of construction, planting and maintenance measures that are tailored to the needs of 14 selected target species. These measures are intended for new buildings and open spaces as well as for refurbishments and the adaptation of green space maintenance in Neuperlach.

INTERIM REPORT. Sustainable school provisioning, community gardens, NEBourhoods gardening modules and a mobile kitchen: An interim report about the processes and outcomes of the NEB Action "Let's Plant a Tasty NEWperlach" covering the period from January to August 2024.

A cookbook of Neuperlach dishes has been created to promote regional and organic food. The cookbook invites you to rediscover your own neighbourhood and meet new people by cooking and eating together.

The hexagonal modular raised beds were developed together with the neighbourhood. These building modules are an attractive and practical alternative to standard raised beds, as they create a distinct horticultural landscape, complete with seating and features such as shading, water retention and irrigation.

DELIVERABLE. Analysis of and solutions for the reduction of urban temperatures in Neuperlach. The results highlight hotspots, effective strategies and the potential of PV-integrated canopies for improving the microclimate.

DELIVERABLE. The roadmap describes a methodology for transforming existing buildings in a neighborhood-oriented and circular manner. It includes a series of workshops, policy recommendations and example methods for the analysis and programming of new uses.

PROJECT DOCUMENTATION. How can the residential buildings in Neuperlach be renovated in a socially just way? This topic is explored in the brochure containing the results of the "Wohnen Weiterbauen" NEB Action. In this guide, you will learn how added value for all stakeholders is possible as part of the necessary renovations in large housing estates.
The ideas developed are intended to contribute to a new culture of reconstruction.

DELIVERABLE. This final report provides an overview of the NEB Action "Reprogramming Public-Private Spaces". It summarises the objectives, methodology and transferability of Urban Space Check and explains the adaptations made during the research process.

DELIVERABLE. The development of a digital toolbox for citizen participation in the field of mobility is described. We learn from experimental co-creation formats and develop tools with a focus on situated knowledge and collaborative exploration.

DELIVERABLE. The design process and construction of the Multispecies Facade and the Plant Building Blocks shown in Neuperlach are described. The aims, ideas and practical and legal requirements for their construction are explained to facilitate replication.

DELIVERABLE. Guide for the co-creative implementation of energy communities: Using the documented founding process of Energiegemeinschaften München as an example, this guide demonstrates how new initiatives can be practically implemented through workshops, tools, and clearly structured procedures.

DELIVERABLE. This documents the theoretical foundations for the development of the Energiegemeinschaften München. The contents provide the conceptual basis for the subsequent co-creative implementation described in D5.7.
