March 2025 | DELIVERABLE. A report on the potential of collaborating with artists and creative professionals in urban experimentation and how this collaboration has been anchored in NEBourhoods as a prototype of reflexive governance. The designs are shown and contextualised within the co-creative process.

January 2025. How can tangible results be developed and implemented by all groups involved in urban development to initiate the sustainable transformation of urban neighbourhoods? This handbook outlines the necessary steps, illustrated with examples, and is designed so that the methodology can be applied in other cities as well.

This handbook covers the use of entrepreneurial thinking in student-focused formats to address urban challenges that arise in the context of neighborhood development. It describes which types of challenges are suitable, which methods are appropriate for generating such challenges, and the role local stakeholders could play in the process of winning challenges. The manual is designed to allow the methodology to be applied in other cities as well.

March 2025. The NEB values Beautiful, Sustainable, Together also provide valuable guidance for the development of entrepreneurial approaches. In order to integrate these into teaching, NEBourhoods has developed videos as educational material to make it easier to replicate teaching formats for neighbourhood development through entrepreneurship.

June 2023 | DELIVERABLE. Strengthening the EU Green Deal and NEB values by connecting local businesses with start-ups: To this end, NEBourhoods has developed a test field in the district and beyond, where solutions to local challenges are being worked on.

June 2023 | DELIVERABLE. The use of two high-quality MakerSpace workshops is opened to local people. Based on a test phase, scholarships are offered. Some results are presented here

February 2025 | DELIVERABLE. A multifunctional space was created for the district as a satellite of the Munich Urban Colab – an environment inspiring innovation, offering coworking, a showroom for prototypes, an event and meeting space. The realisation required a variety and instructive adjustments.

December 2024 | DELIVERABLE. Support for founders and start-up teams fields for the next step to realize their business idea with a thematic focus on NEBourhoods. Learn about pre-incubation and coaching and the entrepreneurial talents matched with start-up teams.

December 2024 | DELIVERABLE. AAD integrates the needs of wild animals into architecture and planning. This also improves the quality of life for urban dwellers. The report outlines the steps and demonstrator projects undertaken by AAD in the district and the development of a toolbox and database.

Dezember 2024 | DELIVERABLE. The AAD Toolbox is linked to a web-based, open-source database. It can be used by anyone interested and shows the habitat requirements for 14 wild animals in Neuperlach.

January 2025. The Toolbox contains a catalogue of construction, planting and maintenance measures that are tailored to the needs of 14 selected target species. These measures are intended for new buildings and open spaces as well as for refurbishments and the adaptation of green space maintenance in Neuperlach.

DELIVERABLE. Analysis of and solutions for the reduction of urban temperatures in Neuperlach. The results highlight hotspots, effective strategies and the potential of PV-integrated canopies for improving the microclimate.

December 2024 | REPORT. The “NEBourhoods shading architecture” is a prototype made of bamboo and wood on the Campus di Monaco in Neuperlach. It provides a multifunctional urban space through shading and delivers electric power through integrated photovoltaic panels.

March 2025 | DELIVERABLE. Based on an analysis, designs and retrofitting measures for the further development of distinctive buildings from the 60s/70s in line with the NEB are presented. Learn about the possibilities of ‘habitable insulation’ and other structural extensions.

September 2024 | PROJECT DOCUMENTATION. How can the residential buildings in Neuperlach be renovated in a socially just way? This topic is explored in the brochure containing the results of the "Wohnen Weiterbauen" NEB Action. In this guide, you will learn how added value for all stakeholders is possible as part of the necessary renovations in large housing estates.
The ideas developed are intended to contribute to a new culture of reconstruction.

May 2025. The publication Wohnen weiterbauen (Continuing to Build Housing) makes suggestions on how large housing estates typical of Europe can be developed – and how additional ecological and social costs can also be made economically affordable: as a win-win-win strategy for the (large housing) estates of the future.

December 2024 | DELIVERABLE. Community gardens, NEBourhoods garden modules, a mobile kitchen and a cookbook, sustainable school meals: processes, and results on the way to an edible city.

A cookbook of Neuperlach dishes has been created to promote regional and organic food. The cookbook invites you to rediscover your own neighbourhood and meet new people by cooking and eating together.

The hexagonal modular raised beds were developed together with the neighbourhood. These building modules are an attractive and practical alternative to standard raised beds, as they create a distinct horticultural landscape, complete with seating and features such as shading, water retention and irrigation.

December 2024 | DELIVERABLE. The roadmap describes a methodology for transforming existing buildings in a neighborhood-oriented and circular manner. It includes a series of workshops, policy recommendations and example methods for the analysis and programming of new uses.

March 2025 | DELIVERABLE. This final report provides an overview of the NEB Action "Reprogramming Public-Private Spaces". It summarises the objectives, methodology and transferability of Urban Space Check and explains the adaptations made during the research process.

March 2025 | DELIVERABLE. The design process and construction of the Multispecies Facade and the Plant Building Blocks shown in Neuperlach are described. The aims, ideas and practical and legal requirements for their construction are explained to facilitate replication.

June 2025 | PILOT. Retrofitting can improve climate protection and biodiversity in urban areas. The ‘nesting façade’ is a smart prototype that combines ecological functions and architectural design. Both projects, ECOLOPES and NEBourhoods, combined forces for this.

DELIVERABLE. The development of a digital toolbox for citizen participation in the area of mobility is described. Lessons learned in experimental co-creation formats are used to develop tools with a focus on situational knowledge and collaborative exploration.

November 2024 | DELIVERABLE. Guide for the co-creative implementation of energy communities: Using the documented founding process of Energiegemeinschaften München as an example, this guide demonstrates how new initiatives can be practically implemented through workshops, tools, and clearly structured procedures.

November 2024 | DELIVERABLE. This documents the theoretical foundations for the development of the Energiegemeinschaften München. The contents provide the conceptual basis for the subsequent co-creative implementation described in D5.7.

November 2024 | DELIVERABLE. PEARL enabled young people in Neuperlach to develop, articulate and live their individual local culture. In cooperation with Münchner Kammerspiele, kopf_kino, Raumfragen e.V., students, and a local school, three pilots show the success of this approach.
