NEBourhoods in Strasbourg: NEB exhibition for the European Parliament
January 2026. The New European Bauhaus came to the European Parliament for the opening of the "Impulse" exhibition, bringing projects, people and policy into the same space.
Hosted by MEPs Christian Ehler and Marcos Ros Sempere, the opening gathered policymakers, practitioners and stakeholders to reflect on how the NEB is shaping the way Europe designs and delivers change. Contributions by Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen and Commissioner Jessika Roswall highlighted the initiative’s growing role as a driver of the clean transition and innovation in Europe and beyond.
Live testimonials from NEB projects across Europe and Ukraine offered a powerful reminder that this work is already happening on the ground. They showed how the initiative translates values into action, supporting concrete improvements in people’s homes and neighbourhoods and strengthening local communities.
Coming shortly after the adoption of the NEB Communication in December, the exhibition marks an important moment to take stock of five years of achievements and to look ahead. It highlighted the tools that help turn ideas into reality, from facilitators to funding, and opened space to build new partnerships for cooperation and co-creation.
